At the occasion of the last SIHH show in Geneva, the Italian Manufacture Officine Panerai has
presented its new collection of watches from their “input range”: the Luminor Base Eight Days
New bases for Panerai
The notification of this new range had the effect of a bomb among Panerai watches fans, also known
The legendary Luminor Base model has been the subject of a real renewal. However we can observe
this renewal inside the box and not directly on the outside design. Five new references have been
announced like three models with two hands that include a steel case with a black dial, another steel
case with a white dial and a third one with a titanium case and brown dial.
The two models with two hands and small seconds consist in steel white dial or brown titanium dial.

New technical specifications
Each of these watches has a power reserve of 8 days but differs from its reference model by hosting
a “factory” manual winding movement called P5000 caliber.
The Luminor Base Eight Days watch has a diameter of 35.7 mm and a thickness of 4.5mm with a
movement including 21 jewels.
Panerai wishes to highlight the robust and solid appearance of these cases.
To achieve a strong mechanism against all shocks, the artisans of the manufacture made the choice
to add a variable-inertia balance to the P.5000 caliber, which can be easily adjusted with the small
screw housed on the wheel, thus leaving the spiral free.
The long power reserve is an asset and will surely delight all lovers of mechanical watches.
Thanks to this new Luminor Base watch, you can now take part in the famous “Paneristi” club.
