The watchmaking brand Vacheron Constantin has introduced three new products in the “Métiers d’ Art Hommage à l’Art de la Danse” collection.
These watchmaking pieces display the day of a ballerina between the rehearsals, the dance class and the performance.
These three timepieces made of white gold with a size of 40 mm symbolize Edgar Degas’ paintings and are made according to the old technique of enamel ” grisaille ” Grand Feu.
Unique timepieces for collectors
These three newcomers designed by Vacheron Constantin were exclusively presented at the Gala of the New York City Ballet on May 8th. The Swiss watchmaking brand highlights through these three watches its values of expertise and its quest for excellence.
These Métiers d’Art timepieces are offered in a white gold case, where Degas ballerinas are dancing with grace behind along with the movements of the hands.
The thinness of the enamel painting reveals the delicacy of the characters, moving on the case of each watch. We could often see the grey enamel applied on black enamel. But it is different for these three new models: Vacheron’s crafstmen chose to work on translucent brown enamel.
It is a very subtle way to highlight the elements of the dial and the gentleness of the frame.
Everything is completely handmade by experienced enamel workers, knowing how to elaborate every detail very carefully.
Within the three masterpieces, a self-winding movement Caliber 2460 SC is running which was completely developed inside the workshops of the Vacheron Constantin Manufacture.
Besides, each timepiece is equipped with the famous “Poinçons de Genève” and is completed with a beautiful strap made in black alligator leather.
These little wonders are already available in Vancheron Constantin stores and come accompanied by two additional items: a book explaining the craftsmanship and a magnifying glass to admire the delicacy of each detail on the dial and also on the transparent caseback.
