Audemars Piguet has introduced on April, 25th, a new model of its Royal Oak on the occasion of the famous Queen Elizabeth II (QEII), a race horse organized in Hong Kong.
This 16th edition of the QEII Cup has attracted many participants worldwide, with a reward of 14 million Hong Kong dollars for the winner.
Audemars Piguet has announced the launch of 150 new limited pieces of its Royal Oak model, in order to commemorate this international race. This masterpiece of watchmaking combines high-end craftsmanship and contemporary design. This timepiece is perfect to commemorate such an event and thus appeals to the most experts and lovers of quality watchmaking.
Sport performances and watchmaking tradition
The limited edition model of the Royal Oak Offshore Diver Queen Elizabeth II watch is equipped with the well-known Le Brassus innovation, providing a timepiece with perfect proportions and technological advanced performances.
The octagonal bezel and the “Mega Tapisserie” pattern, placed on the dial, remain faithful to the style of the Royal Oak sport model.
The esthetic advantages of the watch are highlighted with a combination of color contrast: a tantalum case of 42mm, a bezel in rose gold 18K and a leather grey crocodile strap.
The transparent sapphire back features the engraving “Audemars Piguet QEII Cup 2014 – Limited Edition” and the logo of the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup.
We can easily admire the oscillating weight of 22 carats and Manufacture Calibre 3120 decorations on the back of the watch.
Each element of the watch is manufactured according to the standards of traditional watchmaking and holds perfect finishes.
The watch is equipped with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, while the movement provides a minimum of 60 hours of power reserve and the watch is also water-resistant up to 300 meters.
The new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Queen Elizabeth Cup was presented on April 27th, during the Sha Tin Racecourse. For the occasion, Audemars Piguet partnered with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, local celebrities but also representatives of the equestrian world.

The announced price to acquire the Royal Oak model Queen Elizabeth Cup is HK $ 239,000 or approximately € 22,395.
