Today we are presenting an extraordinary watch…
28 limited pieces to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Arnold & Son brand. This latest model called “Double Tourbillon Escapement”” is a masterpiece of symmetry and beauty. The Anglo-Saxon manufacture offers us a magnificent escapement watch, with a double tourbillon and a dual time function.
An exceptional watch for an unknown brand
Arnold & Son pays tributes to its founder Sir John Arnold. John Arnold has dedicated his life to the search of absolute precision and has shared for a long time his watch knowledge with Abraham- Louis Breguet. The famous brand is celebrating today the 250 years of watchmaking heritage by developing the timepiece Double Tourbillon Dual Time Escapement (DTE) which will be presented exclusively at Baselworld 2014.
The DTE watch features an ingenious mechanism, perfect finishing and an elegantly balanced design.
Originality and daring esthetics
The quite spectacular case of the watch is equipped with a red gold 43.5 mm diameter and a thickness of 8.5 mm. The watch is powered by a manual winding 8513 caliber, entirely handmade, which makes each model completely unique. It also has two separate display time zones independently adjustable.
In addition to the double tourbillon escapement and an indication of the dual time function, the watch is able to display the local time but also the hours and minutes of a second time zone to be configured independently. At last, the double barrel of the watch offers a superb power reserve of 90 hours. As far as the movement is concerned, it has not less than 42 jewels and is treated entirely with rhodium, making it unalterable in time.
This timepiece is incredibly precise and acquires “Haute Horlogerie” quality in the typical style of the Arnold & Son manufacture. We can note that the two tourbillon escapements are harmoniously balanced at 3 and 9 o’clock and give the impression to float on the dial.
There would certainly be much more to say about this unique timepiece but we prefer to let you admire! If you want to go further into the contemplation, we suggest you visit Arnold & Son online.
