It’s in 1973 in the heart of the French Jura Mountains that Emile Pequignet creates the eponymous brand. Today, Pequignet in one of the last French independent watchmaker, offering original quality watches; and deeply attached to values such as the love of handcraft and the respect for watchmaking tradition.

In 1984, the maison Pequignet reveals its collection Moorea which maintains since then an incredible success, embodying in the entire world French luxury.  This collection was born from Emile Pequignet passion for the equestrian world and more particularly for his race horse Moorea. It will give his name to the famous Moorea link bracelet, a steel grain-shaped link hinged with the bracelet, which gives the brand a strong visual identity. The Moorea collection, traditionally oriented towards women, becomes the ambassador of a whole generation of modern and elegant women, in the brand’s image. Each model of the collection, with sober and sophisticated lines, is just like luxury a symbol of timelessness.

From this passion for horse-riding was born in 1987 the Equus collection. To celebrate the brand 40th anniversary, this collection is re-edited, its models revisited and modernized. While preserving the case original and refined lines, the new Equus watches are a combination of delicacy and elegance. The Moorea Equus collection is intended both for women and men. Each model is numbered from 1 to 500 and engraved on the back of the case with « Edition limitée 40ème anniversaire » (Limited Edition 40th anniversary). The Equus model for men, with its 42 mm case, comes in two dial colors, black and white. The genuine calfskin leather strap is also available in two colors, black and gold. Equipped with a small second counter, retrograde date and a double large date window, this model is water-resistant to 100 m. The Equus model for women comes in two case sizes, 30 and 38 mm and in four calfskin leather strap colors. As for every model of the Equus collection, the hands have been designed by Pequignet.

The second Moorea collection is the Lady Collection which comes in 5 ranges. The Trocadéro models, absolute jewel prowess, are available in stainless steel or bicolor stainless steel, with or without diamonds on the dial. The generous shapes of the Odéon models emphasize the discretion of these jewel watches. The strap comes in stainless steel, bicolor stainless steel but also black rubber for an unequalled wearer comfort. The Elegance range for women is an ode to femininity thanks to the delicacy of the mother of pearl dial and the pure lines of its models. The Ranelagh models for women are a symbol of modernity thanks to their generous size and their original aesthetics. The last range, Moorea Classique, honors the famous link bracelet invented by Emile Pequignet. Its models come in different dial sizes with one or two rows bracelets, in stainless steel or bicolor stainless steel. The Chronographe Classique models display a Moorea 3 rows polished steel bracelet.

Finally, the last Moorea collection is the Gent collection which comes in 3 ranges equipped with automatic movements. The Elegance models for men are a symbol of sobriety and originality. The silvered, blue or black reflections of the sunray dial draw attention and hypnotize. The steel models of the Ranelagh collection for men, modern and elegant, form a perfect combination with the Ranelagh models for women. The third range, Moorea Hossegor, is equipped with a DLC titanium or stainless steel case. The opening of its dial allows quick and precise hour legibility and makes it an indispensable timepiece for the diving amateurs.
