It’s in 1973 in the heart of the French Jura Mountains that Emile Pequignet creates the eponymous brand. Today, Pequignet in one of the last French independent watchmaker, offering original quality timepieces; and deeply attached to values such as the love of handcraft and the respect for watchmaking tradition.
In 2011, the Pequignet Manufacture takes up the challenge do create its own movement entirely conceived in the Pequignet Haute Horlogerie Laboratory. The Calibre Royal®, symbol of the French Haute Horlogerie rebirth, is also the only French Manufacture Haute Horlogerie caliber for more than 40 years. Renowned as exceptional by its performances, its beauty and its precision, the Calibre Royal® equips all of the Manufacture collection models for men. The Royal Lily then becomes the Pequignet Manufacture symbol.
With 9 international patents, the Calibre Royal® is an absolute watchmaking achievement. It is a totally unique caliber due to its innovations, which integrates multiple complications in the same plate which gives it stability and reliability. A unique big barrel offers an 88h power reserve. A new winding system is assured by the crown which allows the declutching of the manual winding system when the oscillating mass is in movement. A balance wheel assures the movement regularity and a resistance to impacts and perturbations.
In 2011, the Rue Royale model, first model equipped with the Calibre Royal®, is rewarded in Netherlands, Belgium and then in Japan with the “Watch of the Year” title. The famous magazines Chronos and Watch File give it the Best Watch in 2011 title. It is the first time that such distinction is attributed to a French Manufacture. The Rue Royale range, the Maison Pequignet icon, offers classic and timeless models. Big date at 12h, big moon phase at 6h and small seconds at 4h cover the Rue Royale models dial, available in black or silver. The 42 mm case comes in steel, yellow or pink gold and the alligator leather strap is available in black or brown. Like all of the Manufacture collection models, the crown displays the logo Fleur de Lys in relief.
The Royal Grand Sport collection presents models with majestic dials. The 44 mm steel case associated to the silvered, opaline black or black lacquered dial and the black or brown alligator leather strap bestow sobriety and modernity.
The Paris Royale collection, thanks to the watch complication generosity and the perfect reading of the hours and indications, offers timeless and identital models. The 41 mm case in steel, yellow or white gold is associated to a black or silvered dial with rhodium-plated, gilded or blued steel finishing.
In 2013, Pequignet launches its pilot range, with the Royale Titane, an innovation and modernity alliance. Its lines join the Pilot style, its big Luminova® indexes and its hands reminding the ramp attendants’ cyalumes confer it an elegant profile. This titanium range comes in various models: a version on anthracite or opaline white dial, with a black rubber strap and equipped with a 88h power reserve, big date and small seconds or a more uncluttered version offering only a 88h power reserve and small seconds; available with brown dial on brown strap or black dial on black strap.
