It’s in 1973 in the heart of the French Jura Mountains that Emile Pequignet creates the eponymous brand. Today, Pequignet in one of the last French independent watchmaker, offering original quality timepieces; and deeply attached to values such as the love of handcraft and the respect for French watchmaking tradition.
In 2011, Pequignet Manufacture takes up the challenge to create its own movement entirely conceived in the Pequignet Haute Horlogerie Laboratory in Morteau. The Calibre Royal®, symbol of the French Haute Horlogerie rebirth, is truly the one and only Manufacture-produced Haute Horlogerie French caliber for more than 40 years. Absolute watchmaking achievement, its elaboration required several years of adjustment and enabled the brand to file eight international patents. It is a totally unique caliber due to its innovations, which integrates multiple complications in the same plate which gives it stability and reliability. Its performances, its beauty and its precision have been internationally recognized. Moreover, specialized press awarded it several prizes, the last one being the “Best watch of the year 2014” by the 0024 Watchworld magazine.
Today Pequignet is extremely proud to present its new creation, the Royale 300, one of the most awaited novelties at Baselworld 2015. With this model, the French Manufacture continues its collections’ development and decides to open to the diving’s world. As pointed out by the brand, “The divers need a high precision watch with a remarkable water resistance in order to measure the decompression phase, essential to their survival”. And that’s what Pequignet Manufacture offers us with this diving watch equipped with the famous made in France calibre, the Calibre Royal.
With the Royale 300, Pequignet was able to respect the codes of a diving watch while providing originality and uniqueness. Equipped with a polished and satin finish 43 mm case, the Royale 300 is, as the name suggests, water resistant up to 300 meters. Generally at 3 or 4 o’clock on the diving watches, the Royale 300 displays a patented crown 1/4 turn allowing a simplified screwing. On the opposite side of the dial we find the 88 hours power reserve.
All of these characteristics make the Royale 300 a very sporty watch, especially for the colored versions. The rubber strap piece with double-folding buckle is proposed in 3 colours: orange, blue, black with the bezel in the same colour, and in black with an orange bezel.
The Royale 300 proposed at 4500 euros is the only French watch of its kind. Its sporty and original design, its technical qualities as well as the Calibre Royal make this watch an exceptional piece which has nothing to envy to its competitors.
