In order to see the latest watches from a brand you usually need to attend the watch fairs such as SIHH (if you’re invited) or Basel or else live in a big city like New York, Los Angeles or Geneva. Obviously, this limits the amount of watch fans able to get an up close and personal look at all the horologic treats of the year. Unless, of course, you want to jump on a plane and make a holiday of it. Certainly there are watch nuts out there who do that, but most just have to suffice with ogling the pictures on their computer. Not the same thing as getting a hands on.

Well, Panerai thought that wasn’t fair. They decided to step off the beaten track and allow the good folks of Winston-Salem to experience an exhibition named “The Value of Time”, which brings out the 2011 goods for a viewing, and includes some rare timepieces from the 30’s-50’s. Panerai plans a whole event tracing the history and craftsmanship of the brand, which is in celebration of Windsor Jewelers 25th Anniversary. Rafael Alvarez, President of Panerai North America, will be there to inaugurate the festivities. If you’re in the area, this should be a fun one. Panerai puts on a good soiree.
