Since 1940 it has been tradition that Officine Panerai has winding crown at 9 o’clock on the left hand side of the case. For Italian Navy commandos this kind of mechanism was developed. Due to Commandos have to wear other gadgets this kind of mechanism was absolutely perfect for their use.


Inspired by the 1950s model created by Panerai for the Egyptian Navy – the Rotating Mechanism Bezel makes the Luminor Submersible 1950 Left-handed the ideal diving instrument. The Bezel only rotates in an anti-clockwise direction for added safety allows immersion times to be calculated. An engraved Slow-running torpedo is boasted by the screw-down case-back. To allow commandos to perform their underwater missions with agility and as effectively as possible the underwater vehicle created by the Italian Navy. The 30 ATM is guaranteed (a depth of around 300 meters).


Clous de Paris is featured by the black dial of the new Luminor Submersible 1950 Left-handed.

To combine excellent visibility in low-light conditions with a vintage look decoration are applied by dot or line markers coated with ecru Super-LumiNova. The second hand, inside a small counter, rotates at three o’clock. The date window is at nine o’clock.


With automatic P.9000 caliber movement and 3-days power reserve this watch is mechanical. Rotating in both directions for more efficient winding of the two barrels when wearing the watch is the oscillating weight. The winding crown is designed to make time adjustment as quick and easy as possible. By one hour intervals Hour Hand can be moved without interfering with the movement of the minute hand. Updated without specific intervention but can also be independently adjusted backwards and forwards is the minute hand.


This special edition watch is limited to just 1,000 watches. Natural leather brown strap is provided with each Watch with ecru stitching. Luxury pear wood box is provided with each Watch. Box also contains a rubber replacement strap, a strap replacement tool and a steel screwdriver.



Movement: Automatic mechanical, Panerai P.9000 calibre, executed entirely by Panerai, 13¾ lignes, 7.9 mm thick, 28 jewels, Glucydur balance, 28,800 alternations/hour. Incabloc anti-shock device. Power reserve 3 days, two barrels. 197 components.

Functions: Hours, minutes, small seconds, date, calculation of immersion time.

Case: Diameter 47 mm, brushed titanium.

Bezel: Brushed titanium with polished edges, anti-clockwise unidirectional rotating bezel with graduated scale for calculating the time of immersion and ratchet click at minute intervals.

Back: Screw, titanium.

Device protecting the crown: (protected as a trademark) Brushed titanium.

Dial : Black with Paris hobnails, applied luminous dots and hour markers. Seconds at 3 o’clock, date at 9 o’clock.

Crystal: Sapphire, formed of corundum, 4 mm thick. Anti-reflective coating.

Water-resistance: 30 bar (~300 metres).

Strap: PANERAI personalised leather strap and trapezoidal brushed titanium buckle. Supplied with a second interchangeable strap, a tool for changing the strap and a steel screwdriver.
