Hermes amazes us once again, with the Arceau Millefiori collection that seals the union between watches and crystal. Wristwatches and pocket watches made for this new collection are equipped with a manufactured caliber made in-house at the Hermès Atelier in Switzerland.

A few weeks ago, we had introduced the novelty unveiled by Hermes at Baselworld: the Arceau Temari watch. A model inspired by Japanese art using special setting techniques.

It is today the crystal that Hermès wants to honor, especially on a pocket watch version, with grey models and covers made by St. Louis Royal Cristalleries.

A restored art craft

These crystal-glasswares owned by Hermès since 1989 are known by collectors for their paperweights called ” Millefiori “.
This watchmaker art has remained in the shadows for a long time but is now resurrected by the Hermès workshops.

The pocket watch launched today by the brand has a 48mm white gold case and an antireflect sapphire window. The whole is enhanced by a cover made with the old technique of Millefiori paperweights of St. Louis. A dial in gradated grey enamel appears when you open the crystal cover.
The dial is made with a grey gold base and is completed with champlevés numbers also applied in grey gold.

The heart of this jewel timepiece beats with the Hermes H1837 mechanical self-winding movement.
This mechanical movement is entirely manufactured in the Swiss Manufacture. 193 components were needed in the production of this movement. Platinum has been used for finishes, bridges and oscillating weight in satin. At last, a strap and a matte alligator pouch complement the very elegant style of this timeless pocket watch.

Another version of the Arceau Millefiori is also available in raspberry color. Soon to be discovered in Hermès stores!
