The Swiss watchmaker Maurice Lacroix has unveiled the Masterpiece Seconde Mystérieuse, a stainless-steel watch with an astonishing dial. Available in two limited editions of 125 timepieces in either stainless steel or black PVD, this watch is a singular model of its kind.
An original watch with a mysterious mechanism
The watch’s dial reveals a wondrous mechanism: the small seconds hand seems to float upon the clear disc on the dial. Powered by a new proprietary movement, it offers a reading that alternates between the vertical and the horizontal in 15-second cycles. As it turns on its axis, the hand gives the impression that it is rising into the air.
The hour hand rests on a skeletonized dial, emphasising the watch’s geometrical look, whilst the steel case’s sapphire back reveals a self-winding mechanical movement.
The Masterpicece Seconde Mystérieuse: for the “modern-day sophisticate”
According to the Maurice Lacroix manufacture, the Masterpiece Seconde Mystérieuse watch has been conceived for the “modern-day sophisticate for whom performance and urbanity are part of the everyday routine”. It embodies the essence of a brand that has defined itself on the strength of its innovation.
