We are delighted to see that this year, the Jaquet Droz “Grande Seconde SW” line has been enriched with a new model including the Côtes de Genève decoration. A preview of Baselworld 2014…
A revisited Classic
The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde is one of the most iconic timepieces of the Swiss Manufacture. This watch is characterized with its two decentered dials forming the number 8 along with very fine and elegant lines. The design of this new Grande Seconde has been completely revised by the craftsmen of Jaquet Droz who have made ??the choice to give it a more luxurious look than its predecessors.
This new model is a direct reference to the quality watchmaking tradition. Indeed, its new anthracite grey dial is decorated with the famous ” Côtes de Genève ” also known as “ Vagues de Genève “. It is a traditional element, which offers the timepiece a very elegant and subtle look.
Let’ see in detail the originality of the dial in which we can admire a counter of seconds which extends itself over a great part of the bottom of the dial. Whereas the dial of hours and minutes is smaller and consists in Roman numbers crossing with the seconds dial between 5:00 and 7:00.
As far as the movement is concerned, the new Grande Seconde SW is equipped with a 26631-S self-winding caliber and is completed with a power reserve of 68 hours. An in-house movement developed by Blancpain for Jaquet Droz .
The last element to be considered is the imposing polished 45mm case which gives a robust look to the watch and perfectly matches with the grey color of the “Côtes de Genève” and its alligator strap.
The Grande Seconde SW Côtes de Genève timepiece will be presented at Baselworld 2014 and sold at a public price of € 12,900 €. Jaquet Droz has already announced several other variations of this model, which we look forward to discover!
