Breitling celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Swiss Patrol, launching a quite new version of the famous Chronomat model. This new edition includes a personalized dial and an engraved backcase.

 A double celebration for Breitling

The year 2014 is for Switzerland and Aviation a year of celebration, as it celebrates both the 100th anniversary of the Swiss Air Force and the 50 years of the Swiss Patrol. As for watchmaking, Swiss Patrol is known for its precision and high quality performances which already brought the company numerous awards throughout Europe.

A very resistant chronograph

Breitling is partnering once again to the Aeronautics sector, creating a new Chronomat, a real aviation chronograph

A Limited edition to 1,000 copies, which is characterized by a very resistant satin-like steel box: a chronograph with a black dial and the logo of the Patrol at 9 o’clock and also a rotating bezel. Original detail of this chronograph dial: the figures are covered with rubber. The watch hands indicate hours, minutes and seconds.

A second watch hand represents the silhouette of a red F-5E Tiger II fighter jet.

This watch hand is also very interesting since it enables to display a second time zone on 24 hours which is easily adjustable via the bezel.

But Breitling still goes on and even allows reading a third time zone thanks to the 24-hour scale displayed on the bezel! The Chronomat also offers an immersion into the depths of over 200 meters. The Chronomat has an automatic chronograph movement through a B 04 Caliber, full developed and manufactured in the Swiss watchmaking factory.

The All above certified by the COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Control Company). At last, the bottom is of course engraved and includes the official logo of the Swiss Patrol as well as the limited edition number
