Joris Ide, the Belgian industrial created the surprise in 2012 by buying out the armory of Liège Lebeau-Courally, one of the most prestigious in the world , especially thanks to its luxury rifles, announces a new buyout in the luxury sector, this time in Haute Horlogerie. Thus the Swiss watchmaker IMH, especially known for its Haute Horlogerie brand Julien Coudray 1518, became Belgian, the Européennes de Participations Industrielles and a group of American investors sold their shares to Joris Ide.
IMH is specialized in the development and manufacturing of watches, movements and watches’ components. It will complete the high end watchmaking segment of Lebeau-Courally, while continuing the beautiful story of the brand Julien Coudray 1518: Julien Coudray was the french watchmaker invited by the king François 1er at the Chateau of Blois which in 1518, transformed for the first time the clock… into a watch that could be worn! A true revolution…
It’s to be noted that Fabien Lamarche is still leading the company he created in 2007. Good news for the fans of the watchmaking brand Julien Coudray 1518, well known by the collectors, more so as the new owner Joris Ide has already set the tone: he wants to keep developing this Haute Horlogerie brand with an exclusivity level similar to the one of the luxury rifles of Lebeau-Courally.
