The Greenwich Mean Time watch
This Oris limited edition symbolizes an important step in the history of the Swiss watchmaker.
The new Greenwich Mean Time Limited Edition is a tribute to the 130th anniversary of the Greenwich Mean Time. A primary step in the history of modern watchmaking because it introduced the concept of time zones. The Greenwich meridian was introduced right after the universal time of Fleming, formalizing this time zone as the central point of date changes.
Oris has used for this new model one of the most innovative movements ever designed: the Oris Caliber 690 self-winding movement. It is housed in a redesigned 42mm Artelier case and allows a very easy use for the owner of the watch. The Greenwich Mean Time watch allows us to travel through time, by a simple pressure of the two buttons of the case.
In order to commemorate the establishment of the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), a very nice globe illustrates international time zones and presents itself as secondary dial. This very elegant and ideal timepiece for men’s wrist is offered with a strap in calfskin dark leather, a crocodile pattern and a stainless steel folding clasp.
The new Oris Greenwich Mean Time is a limited edition of 1,000 copies and is available for sale at a price of 2,900 euros. We would be wrong not to buy it!
