Cuervo y Sobrinos watchmaking brand history, not very well known by the French public, begins at the end of the 19th century in Havana, Cuba. It acquires a strong notoriety and reaches its peak in the forties. Nevertheless, the political events that hit the country affect the brand which remains inactive during forty years. Re-launched thanks to Marzio Villa, specialist in luxury timepiece retailing, the brand offers a unique positioning thanks to its “Latin flavor” products. Cuervo y Sobrinos is today an integral part of the Swiss watchmaking panorama and stands among the most renowned watchmaking brands.
Among the brand models, the Historiador collection brings back to life one of its historical and most emblematic models created in the fifties and which was very successful, the Historiador Chronograph, a classical and timeless model but also original thanks to its distinctive design. These collection’s chronographs are elegant watches destined to a refined public seeking luxury products that cross times and resist to ever-changing current fashions. The vintage side of these models is highlighted by a 41 mm case, a dial design typical of the fifties and a domed sapphire crystal.
Among this collection’s models is the Historiador Landeron Chronograph, which is a re-release as a Limited Edition of 50 pieces. This model in 18 carat rose gold is equipped with 2 classical counters with tachymeter scale and white lacquered dial. To emphasize the historic significance of this model and make each piece a unique object of great value, it is endowed with an exclusive hand-winding vintage movement created in the fifties. These movements have been totally restored and decorated piece by piece by Cuervo y Sobrinos to make them work of art which are the pride of the brand and a delight for the few fortunate which have the pleasure to own these timepieces.
The true novelty which will be presented at Baselworld 2015 is the Historiador Vuelo model.
Vuelo, from the past to the present. This watch keeps the philosophy, the “savoir faire”, the experience, it learns from the past to achieve the future. It feels the perception of time, time that triumphs and Cuervo y Sobrinos with it. Vuelo, a myth to the future, to a new era, a new concept that exceeds the limits, new challenges, new ideas. Time moves and Cuervo y Sobrinos too.
Quality, tradition, design and innovation define the new watch of Cuervo y Sobrinos. Developed, designed and produced 100% in Switzerland, the cradle of Haute Horlogerie, Cuervo y Sobrinos combines perfectly the Swiss traditional knowledge with modern technology. Vuelo to prestige and complexity of Swiss watches, Vuelo to a masterpiece of Haute Horlogerie and Latin Soul.
