Christopher Ward, young watchmaking brand, was created in 2004 by Mike France, Chris Ward and Peter Ellis during a boat trip on the Thames. All three of them being watchmaking fanatics, Mike, Chris and Peter wanted everyone to enjoy the pleasure of owning and wearing a premium quality Swiss-made watch. Aware that the high price of a luxury Swiss watch are part of marketing techniques, the three friends set out on a mission to carry on regardless the traditional model and make a revolution in watchmaking: create…“the cheapest most expensive watches in the world”. In order to carry out their mission to create quality watches at accessible prices, they decide to sell them only on the internet.
Today the brand is proud to present two new models COSC certified which expand its Motorsport Collection: the C7 Rapide Chronometer Limited Edition and the C70 Grand Prix Chronometer.
Equipped with a thermo-compensated ETA quartz movement, the C7 Rapide Chronometer Limited Edition, a reference in terms of precision and technical qualities, enriches the C7 collection with its first chronometer. It is also the reflection of an extremely meticulous design and a special attention to details with for example the “cross-hatch” engraving on the crown and push buttons which combine a clear design and exceptional ergonomics.
Thanks to this blend of design and technical qualities, the C7 Rapide reminds the spirit of motor sport. The black dial, extremely clear and precise, is equipped with three sub dials which capture minutes, seconds and tenths as well as a circular date window, characteristic of many models of the brand.
Each model is engraved with a unique serial number and is proposed with a premium quality Italian leather strap, black natural rubber or stainless steel as from £599.
In order to honour one of the most exalting and daring motor racing event of the early 20th century, the renowned Grand Prix, Christopher Ward expands its Motorsport Collection and presents 4 new models. These chronometers celebrate the winning drivers of the inaugural races which took place in France (1906), Italy (1921), Belgium (1925), and Great Britain (1926).
The design of these new models emphasizes the drivers and their stories thanks to many details which highlight their skills and accomplishments, and tell the story behind each race. These models also benefit from many technical advances.
The back of each model has been remodelled to incorporate a enamel flag of the corresponding host nation. In addition each watch case displays a plate on the side with the drivers’ names and their winning times. The four C70 Grand Prix models are offered with a premium quality Italian leather strap or stainless steel bracelet from £599.
