Antiquorum – A very special auction

Since 1974 the Anitquorum auction will be held in Geneva. The auction is specialized in the sale of modern and vintage watches. The company managed it to be specialized in unique collectibles and achieves nowadays the highest prices for the luxury watches and boasts several world record prices, such as the sale of the luxury watches model “King Fouad I” from Vacheron Constantin for $ 2,755,000. Another world record was the $ 596.000 for the Longines watch wear by Einstein.

A new owner for the tourbillon by A. Lange and Söhne

Last week, on 17.03.2013 the beautiful and coveted collector’s item from A. Lange & Söhne was sold for 275,710 euros. At the auction Anitquorum the Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite” was auctioned. The housing is made of white gold and the dial and the bracelet are held in a very intense blue. The model was produced in 1994 and belonged to a limited collection of only 200 pieces. But just exactly 19 pieces were made with white gold case.

For this feat from A. Lange & Söhne, a price of about 225,000 Euro was expected to get. The price of this watch exceeded all expectations. In addition the original purchase price of this watch was four times lower than it was today.
